Funeral is Norway’s leading death doom metal band, formed back in 1991. Alongside contemporaries like My Dying Bride and Anathema, they broke through with their heavy, distinctive sound and a tempo so slow it makes a 95-year-old grandmother seem fast. Thus, funeral doom metal was born. Over the years, the band has explored many directions and drawn inspiration from diverse sources.
