Five new artists are confirmed for Inferno Metal Festival 2027. This time around, we have progressive extreme metal from Telemark, British doom metal, modern metal from Lithuania, death doom from Latvia and a brand-new Norwegian black metal band. We give you Ihsahn, Conjurer, Black Spikes, Frailty and Nedover.
IHSAHN
For fans of Norwegian black metal, Ihsahn is a name everyone knows – first and foremost as the vocalist and guitarist of Emperor, but also for his long-running solo career. After Emperor released their final album in 2001, Ihsahn started his own solo project, and the debut album «The Adversary» arrived in 2006 to excellent reviews. Ihsahn has now released eight albums, with the latest being the critically acclaimed self-titled album from 2024. With a solid backing band, including members of Leprous, Ihsahn always delivers – and then some. Ihsahn has a long history with Inferno Metal Festival, both with Emperor and as a solo artist, and we are looking forward to having him back with us in 2027.
CONJURER
Conjurer are a British doom post-metal band formed in 2014. The band come at you with a heavy sound and a tempo to match. So far, they have released three albums, in addition to an EP and a live album, all of a consistently high quality. Conjurer care little for genre definitions and seamlessly blend sludge metal, doom metal, post-metal and elements of death metal and hardcore. Their latest album, «Unself», was released through Nuclear Blast in 2025. This will be the band’s first-ever show at Inferno Metal Festival.
BLACK SPIKES
Black Spikes are a modern metal band from Lithuania formed by four young women in 2018. Their debut album «Šešėlių Vedami» was released in 2020. In 2025, the band were nominated for the M.A.M.A. Awards, Lithuania’s answer to the Grammys, in two categories: Metal Band of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. Black Spikes have since signed with Napalm Records, where they released the follow-up album «Ydos» in autumn 2026. The band have never performed in Norway before, so this will be Black Spikes’ debut show on Norwegian soil.
FRAILTY
Frailty are a melancholic death doom metal band from Riga, Latvia, formed in 2003, and have so far released four full-length studio albums. Over more than two decades, Frailty have established themselves as one of the cornerstones of the Baltic extreme metal scene. On their latest album, «Tumši Ūdeņi» from 2020, the band moved away from English and switched to their native language. This has given Frailty an even stronger identity and a distinct local atmosphere. The band visited Norway in 2013, when they supported Dominanz at Garage in Bergen. Now they are finally coming to Oslo and Inferno Metal Festival!
NEDOVER
Nedover are a new Norwegian black metal band about whom very little information has been made public so far. The band draw inspiration from the sound and prog rock of the 1970s and blend it with Norwegian black metal from the 1990s. Despite being a new band, the line-up consists of seasoned names from the Norwegian underground, including members from Tilintetgjort, Den Saakaldte, Kvesta and Urarv. We are looking forward to hearing what Nedover have to offer when they play Inferno Metal Festival for the very first time.
