Inferno Metal Festival offers concerts within the extreme metal genre such as black metal, death metal, thrash metal, doom metal and more. Since 2001 the festival has gathered metal fans from all over the world to participate and experience around 60-70 concerts every year in the very heart of the black metal capital of the world. The festival has become a cult phenomenon around the world, and more than fifty percent of the tickets are sold abroad to more than fifty different countries to fans that want to experience black metal at its home ground. The festival takes place at the legendary venue Rockefeller Music Hall originating back to 1986, known for being Norway's most frequently used concert hall with hundreds of gigs each year.
The festival also gathers the music industry at Inferno Music Conference which includes several discussion panels, social gatherings and instrument clinics. The conference gathers hundreds of delegates from the music business from around fifty countries each year.
